Nous avons attendu pour mettre la main sur BioWallet depuis qu'elle a été l'un des finalistes pour le premier Android Developers Challenge. Cette application promettait d'etre la premiere a offrir la sécurité biometrique,le scanner d'iris et la reconnaissance de signature .Le développeur vient d'annoncer qu'une nouvelle version bêta arrive la semaine prochaine et vous pouvez vous inscrire pour être averti depuis le site officiel.

C'est un plaisir pour nous d'annoncer que vendredi prochain (2009-09-25), nous allons lancer notre seconde bêta.

Elle permettra de tester la technologie de la signature biométrique, nous avons corrigé quelques bugs et ajoute quelques améliorations importantes, notamment la possibilité de joindre des fichiers aux dossiers et d'autres fonctionnalités supplémentaires qui sont à venir très bientôt.

Si vous ne faites pas partie du programme bêta pour le moment et que vous souhaitez y adhérer, s'il vous plaît utiliser le formulaire !).

Le problème de la prise photo simple (au sens pas de capteur spécialisé/laser/infra rouge...) : que se passe-t'il si je propose une photo, une vraie qu'on imprime/développe si si ça existe ! :) , bref... ?

Ah grave !!! C'est quoi cette lampe, on dirait un xénon de bagnole (ouais bon... d'accord).

Du coup certaines photos sont plus blanches qu'avec Mr Propre...

Oui, mais au moins y a un flash ;) ... Pour mes yeux, ça ne m'aveugle plus du tout, mais j'ai des taches rémanentes qui appareissent sur mon écran (c'est quoi tous ces petits rectangles noirs que je vois toute la journée ?)

Ce n'est rien. Regarde fixement le flash pendant quelques minutes cela devrait faire disparaître ces petits carrés :lol

As you know, we are about to release the second beta version of BioWallet, using the signature as biometric method. We want to clarify that point, because too many blog posts and tweets are talking about the full application been launched and that's not true:

* This is a closed beta version. We aren't going to release an open beta for everyone that want to download it. We need to obtain statistics about how good is the signature recognition system right now, and that's why this beta exists.

* This beta only allows users to use signature recognition as biometric method for authenticating. Iris recognition is NOT included for now. We're still under development of this recognition method, but it's still not the moment for its beta version.

Next Monday (if everything goes fine), we will start generating and sending APKs. You will receive your personalized APK in a few days. Please, don't be impatient, you will get your APK if you have filled out the form.

Je trouve ça balaise s'ils ont la possibilité de reconnaître l'iris avec l'appareil photo qu'il y a...

Parce qu'il faut être à une certaine distance pour faire la mise au point, ensuite les veines qui ne sont que des minces filaments ne doivent pas être trop floues, plus la luminosité.

Chapeau bas s'ils parviennent à avoir quelque chose de fonctionnel, fais nous un retour sur ça. (même si perso je me vois mal dans la rue mettre un portable devant l'oeil pour le débloquer...)

Hi, here is the link to your copy of BioWallet Signature Beta:

To install the application, just click on the link above and once the .apk is downloaded click on it to begin the instalation process (first make sure the option “Settings > Applications > Unknown sources” is checked).

We would like to draw your attention to some points:

* This APK is customized for you and it will only run on your device, please don't try to distribute it.

* The testing period will last 2 months. After that, the application will stop working. Before that date, we will send you a reminder and an update that will allow you to export in a clear text format all the information you may have inside BioWallet.

* This beta is intended to test mainly the handwritten signature recognition. No other authentications methods are available for now.

* This is not a finished product and it can contain bugs, so use it at your own risk. Also we have to ask you not to talk publicly about it without our knowledge. If you have a bad experience with the product we would like to be the first to know it so we can work to improve it.

* During this beta we will be collecting anonymous usage statistics such as number of users, uncontrolled errors, etc. (that's why the beta needs Internet connectivity). If you want to know more about the kind of statistics we will collect, take a look at Flurry.com, the service we are going to use.

* After each accepted or rejected signature, we will ask you if you think the result was right or not. This data is very very important for us, so please take a moment to understand it correctly. One important thing about signature recognition in BioWallet is that we recognize your signing process, not the final result of your signature. So, even if you think your result was not good, you should consider it as correct if your process was the same way as always (same duration, same number of traces, same pressure, etc). Later in the mail you have a specific explanation of the process.

* We would also like to know about your experiences signing with the device... are you able to sign with your finger? do you find it easy or difficult? do you think it's impossible without a pen/stylus?

* It would be great if you could install a Log Collector and send us a report if the application crashes telling us what you were doing before the crash. Of course, besides bugs, any feedback you could provide us about usability, new features, etc. is more than welcome at beta@biowallet.net

* All this is carefully worded in the EULA you will see the first time you use the application, please take a minute (or two) to review it before accepting.

* If you have ANY doubt, we will be here to help you.

As we say, after each authentication process, BioWallet will ask you about how accurate the recognition has been. These are the options that can occur:

* BioWallet recognize my signature as correct.

o If that was you signing and you have signed as you normally did, even if the final result was not so pretty perfect as you like, select the RIGHT option.

o If that wasn't you signing or if you do a clearly incorrect signature (including a mistaken process of signing, not only a wrong final result), select the WRONG option.

* BioWallet recognize my signature as incorrect.

o If that wasn't you signing or if you do a clearly incorrect signature, select the RIGHT option.

o If that was you signing and you think you have sign correcly (including the process, not only the final result), select the WRONG option.

Some of you already participate in the first Beta version. For those of you, these are the improvements that this version includes:

* Added the posibility of attach files to each record. The attached files are encrypted in the process.

* Improved enrollment process. Incorrect signatures are ruled out for obtaining a better biometric template.

* Improved authentication process.

* Added Go button in URLs. That button opens the URL and copies the password of the record to the clipboard.

* WebSite records now gets the favicon for better identifying.

* Possibility of copy the password of a record to the clipboard from the records list, using the long click.

* Fixed an error when the device was on very low memory and that cause application to crash.

* Fixed some other issues.

pour l'instant j'dirais que ça va pas me servir a grand chose, c'est plus du proof of concept assez "eyecandy" et plutot sympa a utiliser ( et non j'suis pas aware, c'est juste que j'suis pas sur des expressions françaises)

Hello betatester,

We strongly recommend that you update your .apk with this update.

We have added a new export/import feature so you can save your wallet's information and a lot of bugs had been fixed.

How to export your data. Enter in the wallet you want to save. Hit "MENU" and press "Export". This will export all the wallet's information to a .zip file into the sdcard (path: /sdcard/bw_beta/BioWallet_YOURWALLETNAME.zip). This .zip will include .csv files with your directory structure and your categorized records. The .zip file is not protected by any password and the .csv files are not encrypted. You should repeat this process for every wallet you want to backup.

How to import your data. If you have exported several wallets, you should create those wallets first. Enter into the wallet you want to import the information and hit "MENU" and press "Import", the app will ask for the file to import with a file browser. Select the file and the import process will began.

Some notes about the export/import feature:

* This is just the first approach to the final export/import feature. It is just intended to provide a way to back up your information for this beta.

* It will have some improvement in next releases: password protection, optional encryption, other compatible formats, more flexible export ...
