Pledges so far: 440USD || Target: 530 USD

Ok let me explain... Unlocking bootloader opens up the bootloader to accept unsigned kernels and filesystem images... That's why we can flash custom pre-rooted system.IMG...

But there is a problem... The implemention of SEMC/SONY for the custom kernels is a bit different... They require the final kernel in the form of an ELF which contains a constant rpm bin and then the custom zimage + ramdisk... Which is all fine but this is different from the standard android boot.IMG format zimage+ramdisk... And it seems the bootloader on the current production devices are not able to hotboot this non-standard format... Thus when we try to hotboot any custom kernel (fastboot boot kernel.elf) the flash is never accepted and always returns in error.... And there seems to be another problem... Even if we flash it directly on boot partition (fastboot flash boot kernel.elf) the device doesnt boot...

So majority of the bootloaders on production devices are unable to boot custom kernels... I have heard of only a few devices which can boot this non-standard format of custom kernels, and that too because they have a different version of bootloader... So we need to wait for Sony devs to fix this bug... The FreeXperia team (jerpelea, Bin4ry, defer) are well aware of this issue and they contacted the Sony developers to let them know about this bug... Once this bug is resolved, may be as an updated firmware, we will be able to boot custom kernels and we will soon see CM for this device...

As tu flasher le kernel?
